Cover Songs

Thu 3rd May

It’s very difficult to stick to a blog when it isn’t second nature! This week I’ve had a bit of a sore throat, which is always really not cool. But I used my time well by visiting family… hopefully not spreading my germs! I’ve been singing a lot of children song’s lately, along with radio voiceovers and I’ve recently written a jingle for a kids website that promotes saving the earth. I uploaded my new EP to Bandcamp ( and got my first two sales! I won’t be able to see if I’ve had sales on Amazon or iTunes for a while… Today I’ve had a lot of time on my hands, so I covered George Ezra’s Paradise.

I hope you will have a listen and maybe leave a comment on it or even a like!

Diary Entry

A Rollercoaster Week

It is crazy how much a jingle writers world can fall apart when their iMac fails. Especially when nothing is backed up! Seriously, the question of did you back it all up. No I did not. Why? Because I just think my external hard drive could pack up if its all on there… The time it takes to save something in two places… who else does it? My external hard-drive, a beautiful orange LaCie, makes such a buzz when plugged in I have to take it out every time I record any vocals or the whole tracks buzzes.

So there’s good news (my favourite) and bad news. The cable came to try and turn my dead iMac into an external hard drive but it wasn’t recognised by my 2009 MacBook Pro. So this led me to wipe the whole PC and try the re-installation of the Sierra software for the 4th time… with an empty hard drive. This time it worked. I’ve lost my whole 7 track album, my tax chart (which everything is in my emails I just need to link it all together again), my wedding savings and spending chart… and all the logic files from the past year, and photos of my beautiful nephews and holidays. April 2017 I backed it all up. So I’ll live my life knowing a year is now missing. But will I make that mistake again? No I will not. Will I look at those files anyway? Probably not.

I spent so many frustrating hours writing a jingle for a toy commercial, on my 9 year old MacBook Pro. She held out well bless her and I don’t know what I would have done without her. I also tried to save an order on Fiverr… which didn’t work but they were so understanding and still paid me for the time I spent doing their track which just didn’t work on the MacBook Pro because Logic Pro 9 just isn’t as great as Logic Pro X. Jeezzz, can’t you tell the difference in versions. It is unbelievable.

So anyway this evening I had someone come to me asking for 15 tracks. This has most certainly lifted my spirits as I re-write my whole tax year for the year whilst saving all evidence in folders. I can’t believe it. I raise a glass to you all and I do hope that your next week will be better than my week this week… at the end of the day, however much we love our careers, our family and partners make life a better place in bad times.

I just remembered… one of my album tracks… it was the most amazing thing id ever written and it’s gone πŸ˜₯

My First TV Voiceover

PlushCraft! has nearly hit 500,000 plays on Youtube! It was first broadcast back in July this year (2017) and it features my FIRST ever television voiceover. This was an amazing achievement as i’d always written, sung and produced jingles for toy commercials. To have my voiceover accepted opened a brand new world for me.

Nursery Rhyme Projects

Kids Learning Videos

I produced these two songs for Kids Learning Videos on Youtube. Always love working with them and seeing the song’s i’ve made with their beautiful creative videos!

This is Baby Shark. A very well known kid’s song!

This is What Animal Am I? I wrote lyrics, composed the music and produced this one using their brief which was a list of animals along with the song title. Listen out for the surprise on the end!

Diary Entry, TV Adverts

Tue 19th Dec

This morning i’m sat at the computer in my pyjamas with freezing cold feet, totally sucked into todays project that was ordered over night. A buyer has returned for some music over their clients television advert for a product just in time for Chinese New Year. I’m guessing it will be broadcast in China! I put the kettle on for a cup of tea 45 minutes ago and forgot about it. It’s a challenge because I don’t write Chinese music very often. I’m just hoping that they’ll like my use of Chinese instrumentation and hope it’s the tiniest bit of what they imagined it to sound like. Wish me luck!

12 o’clock Lunch Time is here! (Update)

I had an order in at 11.30am for an intro for a Twitch TV user in Australia. All sent and ready for feedback… I hope they like it!

Just waiting now for my shift at the Cinema which starts in a few hours… maybe i’ll get dressed now! And Hurrah!! The introduction song got a 5 star review without any revisions, what a fantastic feeling! A good day all round! Just waiting on feedback from the Chinese TVC now then i’m up-to-date!

Tonight’s Shift

Words cannot describe how amazingly creative my Cinema co-workers are! The cardboard chimney looks almost as if Santa could fall down it any minute! It’s been nice to be back working my first shift in three weeks. Perfect side job. Not too many shifts πŸ˜‚ They’re not making me work Christmas which I’m totally thankful for πŸŽ„ I’ve been here 6 months now. Time has flown by πŸ‘ Now, I’ll just wait for Star Wars to finish then I can go home, get to bed and then wake up and see what tomorrow will bring on the music front. Then I’m back here again for my last shift of the year tomorrow 😚

New Shiftypop Jingle Ad (2018)

I used my free day wisely and spent the last hour and a half writing, recording and singing my new Shiftypop Jingle Advert for, fresh for 2018.

I always find it difficult to beat the catchiness of the first Shiftypop Jingle I wrote in 2014 but i’m quote proud of this one. So here it is! Please leave your comments if you like it πŸ™‚ Next step is to get a video made on… who to choose!

And hurray, 2x radio voiceover projects just came through. Always good to keep busy!
